In this story sharing session with Gabriela-Isabel Anaité, we will be learning about Maya Indigenous doula practices, Copal (smudging), Maya dance (el rey Kiche) and how birth work is an act of reconciliation and reconnection.Practising “birthing as a ceremony,” Anaite believes that “supporting pregnant birthing bodies is one of the greatest actions we can embrace to grow a strong, healthy, viable community. Support and access to knowledge and resources strengthens new parents and families and helps them to thrive in their new roles.
