Carve your very own Inukshuk with Inuvialuk Carver Priscilla Boulay. This is a creative and educational workshop where participants have the unique opportunity to learn about the history and significance of Inukshuks. The session involves hands-on carving and finishing, with participants working on a precut Inukshuk form. All supplies will be provided.
Priscilla is a 3rd generation carver from Tuktoyaktuk, NWT, who specializes in working with Muskox Horn, Walrus Ivory, Baleen, Antler, and Soapstone. Her unique artistic style reflects her deep connection to Inuvialuit traditions. Balancing urban life, she continues to preserve and pass on the rich heritage of her Inuvialuk culture
"My art reflects my heritage and Arctic upbringing. Drawing from Inuvialuit traditions and experiences, I create unique carvings and jewelry using materials like antlers, Ivory, and Muskox Horn. I strive to pass on my knowledge to my daughters, keeping our heritage alive. Through my art, I aim to celebrate our culture, forge a connection with the Arctic, and preserve my great-grandfather's legacy for future generations.
This Workshop is part of the Honouring the Children Exhibition & Workshops, organized by CIF Reconciliation Society
