Come join us at Sparrow Artspace for a fun and creative workshop on puppet making with the talented DerRic Starlight! Learn all the basic ingredients of making puppets, the many types of puppets, and puppet character creation with DerRic's expert guidance and tips.

About DerRic Starlight

DerRic Starlight is a Blackfoot comedian-puppeteer from the Tsuut’ina Nation near Calgary who followed his dreams into a career of acting and puppetry. DerRic is a Henson Trained puppeteer and has completed two full seasons of Fraggle Rock and starts a new season of shooting in April 2025. Now, with over 350 voices, a cast of Indigenous Puppet Characters and a genuine knack for Comedy, DerRic is one of the top touring professionals in North America. He is always in constant demand for Festivals. DerRic performs to adults and children alike.

This workshop is part of the Arts & Culture Sparrow Workshop Series gratefully funded by the City of Calgary.
