In this workshop, Joan Tu shares how she came to write the first children's book about a character with a preservative allergy based on her experience of being misdiagnosed. Discuss the motivations, factors, and barriers involved in sharing underrepresented stories as well as how to overcome the obstacles. Learn how to deal with myths and misconceptions, choose the right medium or format, and write a recognizable and memorable story.
