What you’ll learn

In this unique workshop, you won't just learn to paint botanicals; you'll learn to paint them with flow, grace, and a sense of relaxation. I’ll encourage you to step outside, explore, and pick a cutting or stem from your or your friendly neighbour's garden. By choosing your specimen, you gain complete creative control. You'll have your subject before you, allowing you to study its intricate details – the angles, colours, shapes, and textures. Painting from observation unlocks the door to fluidity and freedom in your artwork. Unlike painting from photos, it's a vibrant and immersive experience that avoids copyright issues and brings your subject to life. I will be your guide, offering instruction and a pinch of courage to help you build your skills and confidence. With my guidance, you'll approach your botanical painting project with excitement rather than fear. No matter your skill level, you'll receive all the help you need to grasp the basics and create beautiful botanical watercolours.

The Materials:

After you register, I will provide you with a comprehensive list of what to purchase. If you have any watercolour supplies at home, feel free to bring them with you. Alternatively, you may opt to purchase the complete watercolour kit, which will allow you to start painting right away when you arrive.
