Sparrow Artspace provides monthly residencies where artists can create, collaborate, and exhibit to further their artistic journey in a supportive community. Sparrow values Creativity, Collaboration, and Community. We are quickly evolving into a community hub where not only do the artists-in-residence explore their own creativity and collaboration, but we also nurture the creative potential of anyone who walks in the space with workshops and drop-in ARTivities.
Sparrow is a (non-profit) private enterprise and is not an official non-profit organization thereby can’t apply for funding and grants and can’t provide artist fees. Sparrow wants the residency program to be as accessible as possible and only charges the artists a fee of $500 for the month and a 20% commission on sales. The actual costs of running the space are approximately $10,000+ per month which is covered in part by an anonymous donor and in part by Sparrow Artspace. The fees and commissions from artists only cover a small portion of this. Additionally, Sandra Neill does not draw a salary from this and works voluntarily. Sparrow Artspace is a philanthropic passion project for Sandra, and she decided not to form a non-profit organization because she wants to keep things simple, and does not want to draw on the limited funds available to art organizations.
This is where you come in. So many people ask how they can get involved or help out. People really want to be part of this evolving community and if you have the means or want to promote your own business, this is one way to become part of our community. We invite you to visit the space for a private tour and to explore the possibilities of a sponsorship.

Augmented Reality App Sponsorship
$8000 – Sparrow needs to fly! We are really interested in expanding out of our four walls and into the community and to take art to an entirely different dimension. Some previous artists-in-residence are interested in doing some AR projects and we would like create an app and work with artists on this. We would also like to create our own AR projects.
Benefits: Hang with the artists-in-residence and join us for a private tour of the residency; an artist made grab bag; your logo/name on marketing materials; one FB and/or Insta post about you or your business + social media tags; one workshop so you can unleash your creativity with your business colleagues and/or friends - max. 12 people. Oh, and a bag of chips.
Supporting Our Creative Communities Together
We believe that creativity is in all of us and that creative exploration can lead to building meaningful relationships with others and developing our own sense of self. In the last year, Sparrow Artspace has been a sponsor of the following: Exposure Festival of Photography; Urban Society of Aboriginal Youth’s augmented reality exhibition at the Crescent Heights Mini Galleries; Immigrant Council for Arts Innovation’s Artist-of-the-Month program; AUArts Heard residency at Sparrow; and upcoming sponsor of CIF Reconciliation Society’s Pokaiks - The Children Orange Shirt Day.
