Dungeons, Dragons, & Creative Wellness

  • Sparrow Artspace 36 4 Street Northeast Calgary, AB, T2E 3R7 Canada (map)

The game Dungeons & Dragons, created in 1974, has varied in popularity over the years. However, new creators and popular media, such as Critical Role, Dimension 20, and Stranger Things, have helped the D&D gain notoriety once again. In this workshop, led by Dungeon Master, Brett Sheridan, participants explore the basic rules of the game, character creation, problem-solving and teamwork. Join Brett to experience how this style of gameplay can support mental wellness, spark creativity, and connect you with yourself and others.

Please have a smartphone or device with the FREE App D&D Beyond installed. Please note that I am not a trained therapist or counsellor. This workshop is based on my personal experience and observations of the positive impact that Dungeons and Dragons can have on mental wellness. While I believe that D&D can be a valuable tool for self-expression and self-care, I encourage participants to seek professional help if they are struggling with serious mental health issues.

No experience necessary.
Ages 10+ welcome (children under 14 accompanied by a parent.)
